this post is dedicated to ashton who turns 5 today. (i need to credit amanda for the idea.)
5 years ago today i walked - rather hobbled - down the lonely street in sioux center, iowa. i had a bag that was nearly bigger than me and i'm convinced at least two truckers driving by almost stopped to ask if i was homeless.

that long walk proved to be one of the best of my life...
